Hello! My name is Kate, and I am the woman behind this blog, Homethyme. 

The name Homethyme was inspired by the love of my home and what it means to make a house feel like a home. Making a home to me is being surrounded by the people I love and the things that bring beauty into my life. Cooking and homemaking is my greatest joy, and thyme is one of my favourite herbs - so it was meant to be. I will be sharing recipes, ramblings, and a few projects here and there. When I close my eyes and think of what this platform would be in material form it would be the small bits of joy in our day to day life; slow simmering soups, the sound of butter sizzling in a cast iron pan, the kettle whistling, cardamon infused bread, a good-morning kiss from your husband or the first sip of coffee in the morning. To me that is Homethyme.
